Derek Molyneaux represents a diverse clientele in business disputes, breach-of-contract cases, real property disputes, foreclosures, and construction law.
While Derek devotes much of his practice to litigation, he also has experience with transactional matters, reviewing and drafting corporate documents and business agreements, while managing risk to help his clients protect their interests and avoid litigation.
Derek’s dedication to serving the public and his clients started early in his career. Upon graduating law school, Derek commissioned into the United States Military to assist his first group of clients: Soldiers and their families. As a Judge Advocate attorney on active duty in the U.S. Army, he worked in several legal disciplines, including family law, trusts and estates, immigration, and military justice.
While deployed, Derek advised commanders under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and applicable federal law, while operating abroad and in foreign countries with austere environments. His experience in Military Justice was foundational to his legal career as he managed and counseled clients through all phases of litigation, through motions hearings, and at trial.
Derek graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law and summa cum laude from Florida State University with degrees in criminology and psychology. He is licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
